With the aging of population increases the incidence of advanced venous disease present, mainly in the form of chronic venous insufficiency and venous thromboembolism. The severity of symptoms associated with these disorders depends on i.a. hormonal changes that occur during menopause and in connection with the use of hormone replacement therapy. These differences require modification of therapeutic treatment in this patient group, compared with the methods used in the rest of the population. In this paper we have paid attention on selected venous pathology issues occurring in this group of patients.
