Low serous levels of sex steroids in women after menopause are answerable for the series of ailments being notified during this period. There is a big group of urogenital complaints among them. Based on lesions of atrophic character, they can contribute to the occurrence of pathological states as well as to some difficulties in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Hormonal substitution in perimenopausal period is an effective preventive method of the above alterations, while being administered after menopause exhibits eliminative properties, bringing about the subsidence of most notified troubles and amelioration in female life quality.
